Well, after a meager effort the Google Nexus One has finally met its demise. While I am thankful that I did not purchase the now defunk product, I am still rather dismayed that I had to spend hours upon frustrating hours to try and purchase the device.
In my eyes there is a clear lesson for Google to learn. Engineers can’t develop an effective sales strategy. If Google had brought the Nexus One to the marketplace with a normal sales channel, the Nexus One would have been a hot seller. I tried to purchase the Nexus One (as did my knowledgeable T-Mobile rep), and I ended up settling for the My-Touch. This process created a double whammy for Google (at least in my experiences). Hey Mr. client, we have a great phone….and NO you can’t have it. Here, please settle for our older technology. This is why I look at the new iPhone as an excellent device. The reception might be bad, you might cheek hang-up on your friends….but hey, at least you can get your hands on it.
